“The Clarke family is so excited to be walking for our beautiful girl Dulcie on September 2nd. Most of you know that at 33 weeks gestation Dulcie was diagnosed with autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease. Not only is the disease rare, the prognosis for sufferers is grim. We were devastated to be told that it was very likely that we may only have hours, at most days, to enjoy with our little girl. Needless to say, it is a miracle that she is now 6 weeks old and while the future for her is uncertain it holds much more hope than ever before. We are approaching each day with as much gratitude and positivity as possible so participating in the Big Red Walk is yet another opportunity to enjoy the present, as well as create greater outlook for the health of our precious girl.
The Big Red Walk is also such a special way for Andy to be spending his first fathers day for Dulcie. Whether Mannus makes it on foot the whole way is yet to be seen! The pram’s toddler seat will be on standby in case he needs to rest his weary little legs, and if not, we will enjoy a quiet afternoon while he has an extra long nap afterwards!
If you would like to join us on the day please feel free, the more the merrier!” Nami xx
